The Kitchen Display System (KDS) shows what to cook and when, synchronized with POS and kiosk orders.
What you should see
- New tickets appear when the front of house sends or fires orders.
- Items may be grouped by station (grill, cold, expo) if your store uses routing.
Typical flow
- Acknowledge or start an item when your station begins work (if your UI supports it).
- Bump or complete when the dish is ready or passed to expo.
- Recall only when you must correct a mistake; follow your manager’s guidance.
Timing
- Use on-screen timers or color cues as hints, not as hard safety rules for food quality.
