Schedule, cancel, and verify Instagram publication

Last updated 2026-08-062 min read

Distinguish a queued schedule from a confirmed Instagram post, inspect warnings, cancel eligible jobs, and verify provider success.

On this page

A scheduled Instagram publication is a durable job, not proof that an Instagram post exists. Use the Publication Calendar to distinguish queued work, retryable failures, required external action, and confirmed provider success. A publication is successful only after Meta returns a real remote media ID.

Review the scheduled job

Open Admin → Marketing → Publication Calendar. Set From and To under Calendar range. Dates are interpreted in the browser, while each scheduled job retains the operator's IANA timezone.

Under Scheduled publications, review the scheduled date and time, timezone, product, campaign, creative format, creative variant, and current status. Acknowledged warning codes record product, offer, or duplicate-risk warnings that the operator accepted. A warning acknowledgement is not a publication confirmation.

Select Open campaign when you need to inspect the source Creative Project, its product truth, assets, or production state.

Cancel an eligible schedule

To cancel an Instagram schedule, select Cancel schedule and confirm the prompt. Cancellation is available for rows in queued, retry scheduled, or external action required state. Refresh the range after cancellation and confirm that the active job no longer appears as scheduled.

If Cancel schedule is not shown, the row is outside the cancellable states. Do not assume that closing the page, changing the campaign, or deleting a local preview cancels a durable publication job.

Verify whether Instagram actually published

If an Instagram post is missing, first inspect the row's current status. A queued schedule has not been proven published. retry scheduled means a transient provider attempt will be retried. external action required means an operator must resolve provider access or another external condition before the workflow can proceed.

Confirmed success appears as Published by Meta and requires a real remote media ID. The row can then expose Open Instagram post, which opens the provider permalink. Verify that link and the intended account and content before treating the campaign as live.

Troubleshoot an empty calendar

Confirm that the selected date range includes the scheduled timestamp and that you are working in the correct tenant. No scheduled publications exist in this range is an empty measured state, not sample data. It does not prove that a post was deleted or published outside Ellich.
