Change, cancel, and check reservation deposits

Last updated 2026-08-062 min read

Preview and confirm a conflict-safe reservation change, cancel the correct visit, and verify payment and refund state.

On this page

Customers can change or cancel an eligible requested, pending, or confirmed reservation from the location's public Reservation workspace. A change is deliberately separated into preview and confirmation so a stale browser cannot silently take a table that is no longer available.

Change a reservation

  1. Open the location booking page and sign in to the customer workspace.
  2. Under Your reservations, choose Change reservation.
  3. Select the new visit date and party size, then choose Find tables.
  4. Select an available local time and choose Review change.
  5. Read the proposed visit plan and choose Confirm new plan.

Review change does not update the reservation. It creates a proposal using the current reservation version and live availability. Confirm new plan performs another conflict check and applies the change once with duplicate-request protection. If the reservation changed in another session or the table was taken, refresh the reservation and build a new proposal.

Cancel a reservation or leave the waitlist

Choose Cancel reservation only after confirming the correct visit. Cancellation uses the current reservation version, releases any pre-seat assignment through the Reservation workflow, and does not create or change a POS order. For a waitlist entry, choose Leave waitlist; the active queue position is released.

Cancellation eligibility follows the venue's policy and cutoff recorded for the booking. A cancelled reservation is not, by itself, proof that a deposit refund completed.

Check deposit and refund status

Open the customer Payments section and review Reservation deposits. Status can be checkout pending, paid, failed, cancelled, expired, partially refunded, or refunded. A paid, partially refunded, or refunded deposit cannot start another checkout.

When a refund exists, the page shows the refunded amount and the amount retained. Rely on the displayed payment status and receipt evidence rather than assuming the full deposit was returned. Refund projection can arrive after the reservation status changes because payment and Reservation records are reconciled separately.

If an expected refund is missing, refresh Payments and record the reservation time, deposit amount, currency, current deposit status, refunded and retained amounts, and payment receipt reference. Do not send card numbers, checkout credentials, cookies, or account secrets in a support request.
