POS Analytics provides permission-scoped Dashboard, Sales, Payments, Operations, and Staff reports. Start by confirming the report period and scope because changing a filter can affect only specific sections.
Choose an available report tab
Open Admin → POS → POS Analytics. The tabs and sections you can see depend on the active location and the reporting permissions assigned to your job.
- Dashboard requires sales reporting access.
- Sales can include sales, menu, or accounting sections according to permission.
- Payments requires accounting reporting access.
- Operations uses audit reporting access for kitchen speed evidence.
- Staff uses sales or accounting access.
If the page says No report category is assigned to this job at the active location, ask an authorized administrator to review the job permissions. A sales-only user does not automatically receive payment, closeout, or export access.
Set the report period
Use Report period to choose Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 28 days, This month, Last month, or Custom. For a custom period, set From and To, then select Apply custom range. The start date must be on or before the end date.
Select Saved ranges to name the current period for reuse. Saved report periods are stored on that browser only. They are not shared with other employees or devices, and applying one changes the date controls without changing report permissions.
Apply the correct scope
Use Report scope after choosing a non-Dashboard tab.
- Location affects location-aware report sections. Users whose company access is locked to one store cannot switch that location.
- Channel affects Channel sales. It does not filter every section on the page.
- Department and Job title apply to Tip Summary and Staff & Tender Performance.
- Employee limits Staff & Tender Performance.
Under Breakdown & comparison options, choose refund/action date or sale date for Financial and tax, enable the same-length previous-period comparison, or group Menu mix by Category, Product, or Hour of day.
Refresh and interpret the result
Select Refresh after source data changes. Confirm the visible period, location, and section-specific filters before comparing totals. A blank table means no accessible data matched the selected range and scope; it does not prove the store had no activity outside that scope.
For refunds, the date basis matters. Refund / action date places the financial effect on the date the refund or payment action occurred. Sale date associates it with the original order date. Use one consistent basis for the business decision or filing workflow.
Export the report
The Export menu requires the reports.export permission. It provides:
- Print for the current printable report view.
- Save PDF (summary) for a summary PDF built from the loaded report state.
- Tax & revenue summary (CSV) for the selected period, date basis, and location.
- All reports CSV (ZIP) for the report data tables in the selected period and applicable scope.
An Export locked button means the current job lacks export permission even when on-screen report sections are visible. Before sending a file, verify its period, store scope, date basis, and recipient authorization.
