Use Kiosk Settings to control the guest flow before an order reaches POS. These are global Location settings unless an active kiosk device has a supported override.
Enable the channel and choose a preset
- Open Kiosk > Settings.
- Choose an Experience preset: Quick Service, Counter Assist, Table Service, Tabletop Reorder, or Custom.
- Review every changed control. A preset stages a defined group of guest-flow defaults; it is not a separate saved profile.
- Turn on Kiosk channel enabled to allow self-orders at
/kiosk. - Select Save changes. Unsaved selections do not update the tenant runtime.
Quick Service uses order-number pickup and a minimal checkout. Counter Assist enables register fallback and a loyalty prompt. Table Service enables richer guest context and split payment. Tabletop Reorder is optimized for a fixed table device. Choosing Custom does not reset existing values.
Configure dine-in routing
Choose Table select, Table number entry, or Order number only. For number entry, choose whether the prompt appears before ordering or before payment and set the guest label to Table, Tent, Pager, or Pickup.
The typed number is optional and never blocks payment. Ask before ordering shows the prompt after Dine In is selected; Ask at checkout shows it immediately before payment. A fixed Table Order Kiosk does not use this walk-up prompt because its device assignment supplies the table.
The selected wording is reused in kiosk confirmation and downstream fulfillment surfaces such as KDS, customer display, and printed slips. Review the routing preview before saving. Device-level dine-in mode, label, or entry-timing overrides take precedence over the global setting.
Configure checkout behavior
The runtime-backed controls include welcome screen, product details, cart recommendations, tip prompt, dine-in split payment, customer simple mode, collapsed guest and loyalty entry, loyalty prompt, Pay at register, refund-slip reprint, card receipt actions, and idle timeout.
For cash-assisted orders, After cash paid delays kitchen work until staff accepts payment. On submit can send work before payment; an abandoned order already accepted or sent to production will not expire automatically and staff must cancel or void it in POS. The unpaid register-order expiry only cancels unaccepted orders. Set it to 0 to disable expiry.
Card receipt actions can expose Print receipt, Email receipt, both, or No receipt actions on the success screen. Split payment only applies to dine-in orders, must be enabled by the effective global or device policy, and can collect a split check only while card-reader payment or the explicit browser card test flow is active. It is not available for every kiosk order or cash/register fallback.
Understand device precedence and current boundaries
Open Kiosk > Devices to review inherited values and blockers. Supported device overrides include placement, fixed table, dine-in mode, routing label, entry timing, split payment, home layout, theme, and idle timeout. Table Order Kiosk devices require a fixed POS table and use the table-order runtime policy.
Catalog refresh interval and Alcohol menu items are currently saved in tenant settings, but the kiosk runtime does not yet consume those two controls. Do not rely on them to refresh an open catalog or enforce alcohol visibility. Verify catalog availability and age-control policy through the active product and operational workflows instead.
After changing runtime settings, reload a controlled kiosk device and place a test order. Confirm the routing label, checkout options, POS source, payment state, KDS handoff, and receipt behavior before using the configuration during service.
