Ellich Payments activation, payment-account readiness, reader registration, store assignment, and a live field test are separate steps. A connected payment account does not automatically make every reader ready at every store.
Activate the restaurant payment account
Open Admin → POS → Hardware → Payment and select Activate Ellich Payments. The restaurant owner or an authorized manager completes identity, business, bank, tax, and payout setup inside the secure embedded payment panel.
Use Review Ellich Payments to return to business details, balances and payouts, payments and disputes, or documents. If the account says it needs review or Ellich cannot access it, resolve that account issue before registering another reader.
Activation can stop when the embedded setup is canceled, the live or sandbox mode does not match, or the account response cannot be verified. Restart from the Hardware page after correcting the displayed issue. Do not assume a saved business profile means payment processing is active.
Choose the correct reader workflow
Select the physical device type before following setup steps:
- Internet-connected smart terminal, such as WisePOS E: generate the three-word registration code on the reader, enter it in Ellich, name the reader, and choose the Ellich store. The reader's idle screen can take up to 10 minutes to appear after registration.
- M2 Bluetooth or USB mobile reader: open Hardware inside the installed Android Ellich Station, choose M2 Bluetooth or M2 USB, select Find reader, and connect the discovered device. Do not pair the M2 in Android Bluetooth settings.
- Tap to Pay phone: use a supported NFC phone inside the installed Android Ellich Station. Complete applicable phone terms and security requirements, then select Start Tap to Pay.
Windows can manage the payment-device fleet and connect internet readers, but M2 discovery and Tap to Pay run through the Android native station app. A normal web browser cannot provide those platform controls.
Confirm store and station assignment
The Android station must already be registered and assigned to a store before it can save an M2 or Tap to Pay reader to the Ellich hardware pool. For a business with multiple stores, explicitly choose the store when registering an internet reader.
After connection, refresh the reader list and verify its name or serial number, reader type, active state, Ellich store, and checkout role. A provider reader that lacks an Ellich store assignment is not ready for store operations.
Run the field test
- Confirm the payment account and reader both show ready for the intended environment.
- Open the installed POS at the same store.
- Create a controlled order with a known amount.
- Send one card-present payment to the intended reader.
- Confirm the reader prompt, approved capture, order balance, receipt path, and payment history.
- Confirm the transaction appears in POS Analytics and the payment account.
Reader registration and an online status do not prove money can be captured. Do not use a reader for service until the controlled field test completes and the same transaction is visible in both operational and provider evidence.
