Kiosk, KDS, Customer Display, Operations Board, Table Order Kiosk, and Sub POS packages must link to the Main POS / StoreHub on the same trusted store network. A cloud device record alone is not enough for service.
What the installer should show
The role-specific secondary package opens Find the Main POS. It is fixed to its role and should not request an owner password, tenant ID, or enrollment claim. Start the Main POS first, then select Find Main POS or Search for POS.
Discovery prefers a Main POS on a private LAN address and prefers a Windows Main POS when more than one valid candidate is found. Always verify the displayed store and station name before selecting it.
If no Main POS is found
- Confirm the intended Main POS is running as MAIN POS / StoreHub server, not Sub POS.
- Confirm both devices use the same trusted LAN. Guest Wi-Fi and networks with client isolation commonly block discovery and pairing.
- Check the Main POS firewall and local StoreHub service.
- Select Search again after the Main POS is ready.
- If discovery remains blocked, enter the Main POS IPv4 address under Main POS IP and select Add POS by IP.
Use the Main POS address shown by the store network, such as a private 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 172.16-31.x.x address. Do not enter the public Ellich website URL in the Main POS IP field.
Complete the link
- Select the intended Main POS.
- Review the station name and role assignment.
- For Table Order Kiosk, set the table or placement label and add the POS table UUID only when the deployment requires it.
- Select Register with selected POS.
- Approve the short pairing request on the Main POS when prompted.
- Continue through Diagnostics only when the tenant, store, and POS link are verified.
The selected Main POS and the cloud assignment must belong to the same tenant and store. Ellich rejects a cross-store or cross-tenant link.
Understand incomplete states
- Register cloud identity only registers the device for support visibility but does not create the StoreHub link.
- POS link required means the station cannot enter service. Return to POS selection and link it.
- POS found, update required means the discovered Main POS cannot complete the current pairing contract until it is updated.
- No POS was found on this LAN is a discovery or network condition; it is not a request for owner credentials.
Installed Kiosk, KDS, Customer Display, Operations Board, Table Order Kiosk, and Sub POS roles require the LAN link. For the cloud-connected Mobile POS exception, follow the Mobile POS section in the installation manual.
