Update an installed Station in place. Do not uninstall it first: uninstalling can remove the durable local station assignment and force the device through setup and pairing again.
Update Windows POS / Store Edge
The Windows POS unlock screen includes Station maintenance.
- Check the current version and package name shown in the panel.
- Select Check updates. Update checks are available in the installed packaged app, not a local development build.
- When the status becomes Update available, select Download update.
- Wait for Ready to install. Do not power off the terminal during download.
- Finish or suspend active service work, then select Restart and install.
- After restart, verify the version, station name, Main POS or client role, runtime, and heartbeat.
Windows update feeds are role-specific. A POS package must stay on the POS feed, and Kiosk, KDS, Customer Display, Operations Board, and Table Order Kiosk packages must keep their own role package.
Update another Windows Station role
If the role does not expose the maintenance panel before opening its runtime, download the matching role installer and run it over the existing installation. Do not uninstall the paired app and do not substitute a generic or different-role installer. Then open the Station and verify its saved assignment and Main POS link.
Update Android Station
Android keeps the stable com.ellich.station package identity. Install the newer signed build over the existing app through Managed Play, MDM, or the approved signed APK. The signer and package ID must match, and the new versionCode must be higher.
Do not uninstall Android Station before an update. Uninstallation removes app storage, including pairing and device state. If Android refuses an in-place update, stop and verify the package ID, signer, role package, and version instead of deleting the current app.
Understand update statuses

An update is complete only after the same device assignment opens and a fresh heartbeat appears. A successful file download alone is not proof that the station returned to service.
