Resetting a Station removes its saved local assignment and returns it to first-run setup. Use Reset only when the device must be paired again, moved to another store, or changed to a different role; it is not an ordinary sign-out or update action.
Before resetting
Record the current device name, role, tenant, store, Main POS, installer package, and any role-specific assignment. Finish active service work and confirm another device can cover the role.
For a normal software update, do not reset and do not uninstall. Update the existing role package in place.
Reset an installed Station
Selecting Reset or Reset setup clears both the Station's browser copy and its durable native assignment, then returns to the Station setup wizard. The device must complete owner activation or Main POS pairing again before it can enter service.
After reset:
- Keep the same role package when the physical device keeps the same purpose.
- Use the exact new role package when changing its purpose.
- Activate Main POS with the owner account, or link a secondary role to the intended Main POS.
- Verify the tenant, store, role, runtime, and heartbeat before service.
Unregister a browser-based device
On /device, open Device settings and select Unregister this device. The browser clears its local identity and requires a new user-code approval. This does not by itself remove the server-side fleet record.
Move a device to another store
In Admin → POS → Devices, expand the device and review its station and register routes. Ellich blocks a store change while station or site bindings still exist.
- Remove the device from its current station or register route.
- Change its store assignment, or return it to the unassigned hardware pool.
- Reset or unregister the physical device so the old local assignment cannot reopen.
- Pair it to the new store and verify the new Main POS or cloud session.
Use Remove from active fleet only when retiring the device or intentionally rebuilding its registration. The Admin action requires confirmation, but the physical device can still retain local state until it is reset or unregistered.
Never move a device by editing only its local tenant value or by sharing another station's credentials. The local assignment, Admin fleet record, store routes, and role package must agree.
