Site Builder keeps header links, store action icons, footer links, footer text, and announcements in separate controls.
Build the customer navigation
- Open Admin > Site Builder > Website > Navigation.
- Add a Label and customer-facing URL for each header link.
- Move links up or down into the order customers should see, and remove obsolete rows.
- Build the footer list separately. Footer links use their own order even though they are edited on the same screen.
- Choose Save and apply navigation when a live site is connected, then inspect the navigation and header/footer live update results.
In commerce mode, Cart, Wishlist, and Account are required customer actions. Site Builder restores a missing action when navigation is saved. A row with /cart, /wishlist, /my-account, or /account, or the matching action label, appears as an icon when the live website style supports store navigation. Other rows appear as text links.
The header preview shows the saved Ellich order. It is not proof of the public header. Open the public site at desktop and mobile widths and test every internal and external URL. Operator or admin access links are not public navigation and are filtered from the customer menu.
Apply a footer note
Enter the note and choose Apply footer note. A blank value uses the website style's default footer. Direct header, footer, and color editing requires a Full Site Editing, or block, style. If the result says the current style is unsupported, choose an Ellich-ready style or keep the theme-provided header and footer.
The footer-note action applies directly to the current connected style. Recheck it after changing the website style or running a complete live update because a rebuilt header or footer can replace theme-level text.
Create and publish an announcement
- Open Announcements, enter a title and optional message, and choose Add announcement.
- A newly added announcement is active in Ellich but is not proven public yet.
- Choose Publish announcements or run the complete live update.
- Confirm the announcement step succeeded and open the public site. Active announcements are sent as published, sticky announcement posts; their banner or post placement depends on the current style.
Remove first tries to move a connected live announcement back to draft, then deletes the Ellich record. If live removal cannot be confirmed, Ellich keeps the record so the action can be retried safely. Do not treat the local list disappearing as the only proof; verify that the public announcement is gone.
Recover a menu or announcement problem
- If the public menu order differs from Saved header order, inspect the Navigation and Header and footer live steps, then correct the exact failed step.
- If Cart, Wishlist, or Account is missing, confirm commerce mode, the saved action path, and whether the active style supports store action icons.
- If an announcement remains public, reconnect the live site if necessary, remove it again, and verify the public page in a fresh session.
- Never keep applying all updates without reading the individual step result.
