The Product Image Library stores tenant-private product imagery in folders. Uploading an image adds it to the library only; it does not attach the image to a product, change a menu, or publish it to POS, kiosk, display, online, social, or marketplace channels.
Browse and organize the library
Open Product Image Library and review Total Images and Storage Usage. Choose Current Folder to view its images. Category-based folders are created from the product category tree, and legacy local folders can be moved under the uncategorized category path when the library loads.
Enter New Folder and select Create to add a folder under the current path. Folder names and paths are sanitized for tenant-safe storage. Use folders as organization aids; a folder name does not assign a category or product relationship.
Upload valid images
Select Upload to Current Folder and choose up to 50 files. Each file can be no larger than 20 MB. The server accepts valid JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF content and checks the actual file signature, dimensions, pixel count, and decodability. Renaming a non-image file with an image extension does not make it valid.
After upload, verify the expected image count, file card, folder, size, and View preview. Upload success is storage evidence only. Open the intended product, select the stored image through the product workflow, save the product, and verify the intended customer-facing channel separately.
Development can use tenant-scoped local storage. Production requires configured S3-compatible storage; a production storage configuration error prevents the library from pretending that a local-only upload is durable.
Delete safely
Use Delete on an image only after confirming it is unused. Deletion is blocked when any product references the image, and the error reports that references must be replaced first. Replace and save the image on every referenced product, verify those products, then retry deletion.
Select a non-root folder and use Delete only when it is empty. Root cannot be deleted, and a folder containing images or child content is rejected. Create, upload, delete, and legacy-migration actions are written to the image-library audit trail.
Verify the customer result
For a new or replaced product image, do not stop at the library preview. Verify the saved product record and then load POS, kiosk, display, or online catalog output for the correct tenant and location. Library presence alone is not proof that a guest can see the image.
